ATDC’s Mond(AI)y Coffee Brings Builders Together
A weekly meetup, prompted by curiosity about the possibilities of building with artificial intelligence (AI), is brewing at the Atlanta Technology Development Center (ATDC). “Certainly AI is the biggest thing happening,” said Adam Gautsch, MarTech Catalyst at ATDC and Mond(AI)y Coffee organizer. “There were so many conversations about AI, and I thought, we might as well consolidate into a regular conversation over coffee.”
On Monday mornings, builders, founders, and researchers gather at ATDC in the Centergy Building. Attendees first grab a cup of coffee, then share what they’ve been building with AI, get ideas and feedback, and brainstorm.
“People are thinking about building the future, and it’s fun,” said Gautsch. The events, which are free and open to both those already building with AI and those interested in learning, often end with attendees staying longer, talking, and huddling in groups to continue conversations.
Mond(AI)y Coffee is held in ATDC’s Northstar Labs, an AI lab equipped with computers, servers, and a graphics processing unit (GPU), where attendees can work on and test what they are building with AI.
Sharing ideas to build better and faster
Each conversation kicks off with an attendee presenting to the group on what they’ve been building and why they are working on this AI solution. Then, there is an open discussion. Since its launch in 2025, Mond(AI)y coffee presenters have included FilmPro, Offbrand.ai, and StyleBoard, among others. Gautsch highlighted that builders are sharing ways to do things faster and with fewer resources using AI tools.
This opportunity to share ideas, challenges, and solutions allows the group’s knowledge to compound. “Attendees are getting inspired; they want to share based on what they heard about in a previous event,” said Gautsch.
“During these discussions, sometimes people are passing an HDMI cable between each other to share ideas,” said Gautsch. “People are sharing things that are not fully formed, or something that they know is broken, and they are looking to understand what they can do. And then, the other attendees can give suggestions,” said Gautsch.
Exploring Trends in Real Time
“Things with AI change week to week,” said Gautsch. At Mond(AI)y Coffee, there is a focus on using the agentic AI tool, Claude Code, which serves as an assistant for writing code from chat-based prompts. For example, Gautsch himself used Claude Code to build the Mond(AI)y Coffee website in an hour and a half. “Seeing things change as you are working and with tailored content based on your prompt is a magical thing to happen.”
Gautsch shared that over the past seven years with ATDC, which accelerates startups in Georgia, he’s coached startups from early stage to scaling their businesses. One of his favorite things is “learning about trends in real time.” At Mond(AI)y Coffee, you have the chance to chat about and try emerging AI tools and methods.
Mond(AI)y Coffee may be early in the morning, but it will leave you energized for the rest of your week. Check out ATDC’s calendar of events and set your alarm clock now!
