The second of February not only celebrated Groundhog Day, nationally, but also commemorated the annual kickoff of our student partner, Startup Exchange, locally in Tech Square!

We kicked off February in full-force with an artificial intelligence (AI)-inspired activation right in the lobby of Centergy during lunchtime.

As a community filled with entrepreneurs, innovators, and researchers, stress can often be associated with such career paths. As a way to help negate this detrimental response – and edify productivity – we sought to arm our members with beneficial techniques via our Recess: Journaling Workshop. 

In honor of welcoming the new year and the first week back to school, we hosted a Pop-Up at the Technology Square Research Building (TSRB) centered around our members’ focus for the new year and the tools they would need in order to succeed. 

In early December, as a way to wrap up (see what we did there?) the end of the year, we hosted our annual Tech Square holiday party for all of our community members and tenants as a small token of our appreciation. 

Student entrepreneurs face unique challenges launching startups while balancing academics. To address this and much more, the Startup Exchange Summit ATL, hosted in The Clubhouse, boasted an evening dedicated to connecting founders and funders through a celebration of innovation and creativity right in the heart of Atlanta.

Once again, our student partner and Georgia Tech civic organization, Bits of Good (BoG), hosted their biggest semester event at The Clubhouse and invited members and the local community to attend. The Showcase: Bits of Good Demo Day featured the latest advancements in web, app, and software development for the local non-profit organizations they partnered with.

GTXR was back at it again in The Clubhouse, fresh off the heels of their evening of exploring the Metaverse, but this time hosting a more intimate gathering. Their XR Couch Talk invited community members to converse with star speaker, Aditya Vishwanath, Founder and CEO Inspirit, Forbes Under 30, Ex-Google, Georgia Tech Grad, Stanford PhD, and Stanford Knight-Hennessy Scholar.

In order to introduce students from different verticals to the startup and entrepreneurship ecosystem, Startup Exchange (SX) partnered with several Georgia Tech (GT) groups to not only educate others, but also invite attendees to hear from a local success story.

Fresh off the heels of the GVU Center’s two-day event celebrating their 30th anniversary, we wanted to capitalize on all of the activity happening in the Technology Square Research Building (TSRB) as of late. So we decided to pop-up in the lobby early one morning to teach our community about the science behind a perfect pour over, while they shared their goals for the upcoming year.

The first weekend in November, Blockchain at Georgia Tech hosted a three-day premier Web3 conference at The Clubhouse for attendees to explore, network, and compete for prizes!

As part of the GVU Center’s two-day event celebrating their 30th anniversary, GTGraffiti, the first graffiti-painting robot system that mimics the fluidity of human movement, set up their pully-operated spray painting machine in the Tech Square courtyard as an interactive art exhibit, encouraging community members to stop by and participate.

In late October, our newest student partner group, GTXR, teamed up with Meta recruiters and engineers to host an evening filled with a panel discussion, networking, and even exploring the Metaverse with virtual reality (VR) headsets at The Clubhouse.

Once again, we at Tech Square ATL (TSQATL) Social Club teamed up with Joulea, a software platform that uses drones to reduce energy costs and consumption in commercial buildings, to host a hands-on activation that took participants to new heights.
