From Summer Highlights to Fall Opportunities

As crisp mornings return to Tech Square, we’re celebrating a summer full of energy and creativity, including sharing innovative ideas during Midtown Day and engaging in several community service opportunities to give back to the broader Atlanta community.

We’re also looking ahead to a fall calendar rich with innovative and creative events designed to spark connection, curiosity, and community. But first, let’s take a moment to relive our favorite summer memories!

Weekly staples for interaction include TSQ Tuesdays, Coffee Connect at The Biltmore on Tuesdays, IPaT GVU Lunch Lectures on Thursday, and ATDC Feedback Fridays. Monthly provisions to exchange ideas feature ATDC Entrepreneurs Night, Startup Oasis, and the TSQ Traveling Library at the Tech Square Research Building. Whether you’re looking to network, learn, or be inspired, there’s an abundance of opportunities to tap into and be inspired by fresh insights.

Fostering Joy and Connection

Community members and their future best friends gathered in the Tech Square ATL courtyard for a dog adoption event led by the Lifeline Animal Project, a non-profit that helps animals in shelters, clinics, and the Lifeline Community Animal Center in the Atlanta area. One long-time Lifeline volunteer and advocate, who is also a Biltmore Innovation Center community member, shared the idea for the adoption event to bring awareness and support for the organization and its efforts of “saving lives together.” Lifeline educators shared information on volunteering, commonly needed shelter supplies, and dog adoption. Attendees had the opportunity to adopt a dog for a day or a weekend, and they also brought donations of food, towels, blankets, crates, and toys.

Heartfelt Community Support

Life-saving support, including from 32% first-time donors, was provided through an American Red Cross blood drive event in July. At the drive, we reached 127% of their donation goal and impact, potentially saving nearly 70 lives in the broader community.

Supporting Students, One Backpack at a Time

As summer days grew shorter and fall approached, the Tech Square ATL community supported students’ preparations for the new school year through a backpack drive with Agape Youth & Family Center, whose mission is to “empower children and families to discover, embrace, and achieve their full potential.” Gathered in the Clubhouse, the Tech Square ATL community collected and organized supplies in backpacks for 250 students, ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade.

Innovation in the Open Air

During Midtown Day, as part of Atlanta Tech Week in June, the Tech Square ATL courtyard was transformed into a playground for big ideas, chance encounters, and innovation in motion. Dynamic events included a sunrise founder + funder jog, robot demos, a panel on ethical AI, and a clean energy happy hour, to name a few.
