Tech Square Interns Gather for Summer Networking Luncheon
Summer interns from across Tech Square came together last week at The Clubhouse for a luncheon designed to help them connect, unwind, and learn more about the work happening across the district. Activations specialist, Vicky Fowler of Tech Square ATL, organized the event, giving interns from different companies a chance to step away from their desks and meet the peers they share the neighborhood with.
Organizers set up a whiteboard wall that invited interns to answer four prompts on sticky notes. The questions ranged from the forward-looking, "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" and "Before I leave this internship, I hope to...," to the practical, "What networking connection skills have you made?" and "Is there an exciting project you're working on?" The responses painted a lively picture of the group. Interns described projects spanning AI agents, neuromorphic computing, optical neural networks, PFAS research, and 5G, while their five-year goals stretched from med school and city planning to full-time roles and plenty of travel.
The wall also captured the softer side of the internship experience. Many interns hoped to build more connections, make friends, or simply get more comfortable striking up a conversation with someone new.
