Tune In to Tech Talks Business and Amplify Your Success
Engaging speakers, thoughtful questions, and dynamic discussion. Tech Talks Business is like your favorite podcast, covering ideas and topics relevant to business, society, and leadership. But unlike a podcast, Tech Talks Business is held in person, so you can ask your questions and discuss ideas with other attendees after listening to the conversation.
At each Tech Talks Business event, Dean Anuj Mehrotra shares the stage with leaders to engage in a conversation about trends, career success, leadership, and the challenges and complexities of a rapidly changing world. Each guest is an expert in their field, which ranges from business, technology, entrepreneurship, public policy, or civic innovation. The Tech Talks Business event series is sponsored by the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business.
“One of the most rewarding parts of hosting Tech Talks Business has been creating a space and platform for meaningful, timely conversations that serve not only the Scheller community, but the broader Georgia Tech community and beyond,” said Mehrotra.
The sessions, which are open to the public and attended by interdisciplinary attendees including students, industry professionals, and the public, are held at various locations, including those in Tech Square, such as the Historic Academic of Medicine, CODA building, Cisco Innovation Center, and the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center. Each event features a reception after the talk, where attendees can share ideas with other guests while insights and inspiration are still top of mind.
The Power of Sharing Stories
When Dean Anuj Mehrotra joined Scheller in 2024, starting Tech Talks Business was a priority. The ongoing event series aligns with Mehrotra’s focus on collaboration, engagement, and transformation of the future of business.
“The series reflects the interdisciplinary spirit of Georgia Tech, bringing together perspectives from business, technology, policy, and innovation in ways that are relevant both on campus and in the broader world,” said Mehrotra.
The events are centered around conversation. Through the exchange, you have a chance to hear directly from leaders in their fields as they reflect on their experience and expertise and share what they have learned. Discussions traverse the guest's field of expertise, career, business trends, challenges, opportunities, and outlook for the future.
Sharing stories is a powerful way to communicate ideas and transfer knowledge. In Made to Stick: Why Some Ideas Survive and Others Die, by Chip and Dan Heath, stories are highlighted as one of the key methods to ensure that people can learn, remember, and use what they have learned. And at Tech Talks Business, you have the chance to hear stories directly from these leaders.
“What has seemed to resonate most with attendees is the opportunity to engage with ideas that are both forward-looking and immediately applicable,” said Mehrotra. “Our goal is to convene conversations on timely topics and explore how innovation and technology are reshaping the business environment in real time. Whether the speaker comes from a global corporation or a startup, our audience has responded when they hear candid perspectives on how leaders are navigating change, uncertainty, and opportunity.”
Setting the Stage
The inaugural Tech Talks Business event in 2024 featured Georgia Tech President Ángel Cabrera, in which Mehrotra and Cabrera discussed topics such as the intentional evolution of the Georgia Tech campus, the future of artificial intelligence (AI), decision making for complex problems, and finding inspiration in your work, among other topics. You can watch a full recording of the Tech Talks Business event with President Cabrera. Since the inaugural event, there have been monthly events, and the event series has grown.
The Fall 2024 season featured speakers from Accenture, Boston Consulting Group, McKinsey & Company, Home Depot, iFOLIO, and Southern Company. You can learn more in the Tech Talks Business: Season 2 Fall Recap video.
Mehrotra shared that, “For me, personally, these conversations reinforce the importance of the industry-education partnership, to extend learning well beyond the classroom. While our location in Atlanta is a tremendous advantage, Tech Talks Business is not limited to geography. We have welcomed guests from across the country and world, and we have begun convening these conversations in other cities as well. That reach allows us to share ideas, strengthen relationships, and create a platform that is useful not just for Georgia Tech, but for anyone interested in how business is evolving.”
Conversational Insights
“One of my favorite parts of Tech Talks Business is the breadth of conversations it makes possible. We have been fortunate to host leaders from institutions including finance, travel, and energy, but the future of the series isn’t just about covering more industries; it’s about engaging the next generation of leaders who are shaping the evolving entrepreneurial, industry, and public policy ecosystems,” said Mehrotra.
The Spring 2026 session started with Tech Talks Business welcoming Eric Gray, who shared his path from chemistry to CEO of the Power Segment at GE Vernova.
This event session highlighted the dynamic conversation that Mehrotra has with guests. Mehrotra and Gray navigated conversations about taking time to learn new skills, the evolution of businesses, decision-making under uncertainty, and sustainable business topics, including potential surges in energy demand for data centers and renewable energy technologies. During the question-and-answer portion of the discussion, attendees asked Gray about emerging technologies, sustainability, data centers, and renewable energy.
Tech Talks Business Spring 2026 has featured guests Maria Elisa Botero, CMO of Nutresa; Jeannine Haas, SVP, CMO of Gulfstream Aerospace; and Melody Lee, CMO of Mercedes-Benz USA as part of the Marketing Innovation Conference held at Georgia Tech. Additional 2026 conversations have been with Adena T. Friedman, Chair and CEO, Nasdaq, Inc., and Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO, Snowflake. You can watch these and all previous Tech Talk Business events on their website, which also includes summaries of each discussion and photos.
“Ultimately, what we are building at Scheller is a business school that is deeply connected to the real world. One that gives students and our broader community access to the leaders, ideas, and experiences shaping the future of business,” said Mehrotra.
Taking Action
“As innovation and technology continue to transform the business environment, I am especially excited to bring in speakers who can help us understand those shifts from multiple angles. That certainly includes leaders working at the forefront of AI, both those developing cutting-edge technologies and those using them to redefine how organizations operate and compete. But it also includes entrepreneurs, public policy leaders, and changemakers whose work is influencing how markets, institutions, and society evolve together. And of course, I look forward to welcoming more Scheller alumni into the series as well, as they bring valuable perspectives as leaders in industry and entrepreneurship, and they demonstrate in a very real way how a Scheller education can shape a career and create a lasting impact,” said Mehrotra.
